Memoria vs Picniic

Picniic bundles a family calendar, lists, a message feed and an optional location tracker. Memoria adds AI capture, vehicle/appliance/insurance tracking and an encrypted vault.

Picniic is an established all-in-one family organizer — a shared calendar, to-do and grocery lists, group events, a family message feed, and an optional paid tier with a location tracker and a place for confidential information. Memoria covers the shared-calendar and list ground but starts from capture: forward a school circular, a bill or a warranty card, or photograph a document, and Memoria parses it into the right reminder — then tracks vehicles, appliances and insurance renewals and keeps the papers in an encrypted, household-scoped vault, in 12 languages.

Migration

Switching from Picniic to Memoria.

There is no two-way sync — but there is no lock-in either. One-time, one-way, no data left behind.

  1. Forward your last month. Send your most recent Picniicentries — school circulars, fee notes, warranty cards, insurance emails — to your Memoria number or email alias. Captures parse and back-fill in a day.
  2. Pin the Memoria reminder feed. Once your items are in, the calendar and reminder feed become the daily surface. Keep Picniic open in parallel for the first 30 days to verify nothing slipped.
  3. Cancel when you are sure. After a month of parallel use, most households unsubscribe from Picniic. Memoria keeps your full history, exports everything as an archive, and never holds your data hostage.

FAQ

How does Memoria's vault differ from Picniic's info locker?

Both give you a place for important information, but Memoria’s vault is encrypted at rest with strict household-scoped access, full-content searchable, and geared to claim-ready exports — and it fills itself from forwarded documents rather than manual entry.

Will my data import automatically?

Forward your last month of items to your Memoria number or email — captures parse and back-fill in a day. There is no two-way sync; the migration is one-time and the source apps stay where they are.

Is my data private?

AES-256 encryption at rest with strict household-scoped access controls. We do not read your data; access is gated to verified members of your household. DPDP-2023 compliant from day one.
